Yard Waste Information
Yard waste collection is from April 1—November 30.
Place yard waste in brown Kraft bags (No compost will be accepted in
plastic bags) or in a container clearly marked "Yard Waste".
Bundles and container must weigh under 50 pounds. No tree stumps or
trunks are accepted. Branches with diameters ranging between 2"
to 4", must be cut down to lengths of four (4') feet and tied in
bundles, for pick up with your TRASH on your scheduled day. Branches
are chipped for re-use. Large tree limbs, that is, those greater than
2” but less than 4” in diameter, may be set out with the trash as they
cannot be composted because they damage the grinding equipment at the
compost site. If you place them out with the trash, we set them aside
at the landfill and chip them for mulch, or, as a part of the fuel supply
program at Genesee Power’s alternate fuel powered electrical generating
plant in Flint.
