OUR PEOPLE

All our operating companies under Richfield Equities run independently, on a day to day basis, with strong central control of financial and environmental compliance issues. Waste collection and disposal contracts awarded to Richfield Equities, Inc. are assigned to the appropriate operating company. In all cases the parent company will guarantee the performance of the operating company and provide all the guarantees and sureties.

Our two principal operating officers, Mr.Rumbold and Dr.Hambleton, have many years of experience in the waste industry. This includes recycling, waste collection, waste disposal and waste reprocessing. We are both major stockholders in Richfield Equities.

Mr. Bernhard Rumbold was educated at Kings College London, England where he graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1966. He is both a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Chemist, and during the past 25 years has owned and operated a number of businesses located in Canada and the USA. He is the former CEO and owner of Cove Sanitation and Landfill, a business that he and Dr. Hambleton purchased when it had been closed by the DNR. They were successful in bringing all the necessary corrective actions to resolution and implemented both a RIFS and a RAP program while re-opening the landfill. Mr. Rumbold successfully directed the operation from a small regional waste hauler and landfill to the largest waste business in that part of the State. Although he was born in England, Mr. Rumbold is now a U.S. citizen and lives in Lake Orion, Michigan.

Dr. Frederick Hambleton was educated at the University of Manchester, where he graduated with Honors in 1965, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Physics. In 1968 he received his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester. From 1968 to 1970, he was a British Science Council Fellow and carried out award winning research in Surface Catalysis. In 1970 Dr. Hambleton moved to Cleveland Ohio and since that time has been involved in ownership of several businesses in both engineering and technology fields. In 1990, one such business, Xysys Inc. was awarded a Gold Medal for Technical Innovation by the Michigan Technology Council. He holds several patents, and has published over 20 Scientific and Technical papers in various scientific publications. From 1993 onwards he was a part owner, with Mr. Rumbold of Cove Sanitation and Cove Landfill in Bad Axe Michigan. Dr. Hambleton is now a U.S. citizen and he currently lives in Orchard Lake, Michigan.
