Flint's 25th Crim RaceThe annual renowned Crim was not for runners alone, but an opportunity for all of the local businesses to storm the area with cooperation and unity. Richfield Equities volunteered its services to assist the Crim event with clean up, August 24, 2002. We devised a plan with Curbco's sweepers, Bob Cats and blowers to allow our trucks to quickly collect debris. We forced all the waste to the center of the street and enjoyed a "relay race of large equipment and machinery" to get the streets of Flint reopened by 5 pm, less than an hour after the festivities ceased. Richfield Equities was told about the daunting task of removing thousands
of disposable water cups. Here, we see filled water cups, then discarded
cups, then we have Trash Taxi conquering and collecting cups! Fred Hambleton and Gary Varisto of Richfield Equities are thanked by Sherlynn Everly. She's the Executive Director of The Crim Festival of Races and told us over 8,000 runners would be attending. On Race Eve, we gathered in the VIP tent where Mayor Rutherford greeted Gary Varisto of Richfield Equities with his Crim plaque. |
